Every song link, in your app.
Friends send Spotify. You listen on Apple Music. Tap the link and Ony opens the same song where you listen, from Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music or YouTube.
Today
-
Tap a song link
In WhatsApp, a browser, anywhere. Android hands it to Ony.
-
Ony finds the same song
By title, artist and album, in your app's catalogue for your country.
-
It plays in your app
Usually a second or two. Ony shows a small card while it looks, then gets out of the way.
Works with the links people actually send
Ony opens songs in Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube Music, whichever you use, from links to any of these:
- Spotify
- Apple Music
- YouTube Music
- YouTube
Set it up once, then forget it
Ony walks you through this the first time you open it and ticks off each step.
Questions
Short answers. The code is on GitHub if you want the long ones.
Is it free?
Yes. No account, no ads, no subscription. Ony is open source under the MIT license.
Why do I have to switch on links in Settings?
Since Android 12, only you can hand another company's links, Spotify's or YouTube's, to a different app. It keeps random apps from hijacking links. Ony can't do it for you, so it shows you exactly which switches to turn on.
Does it work in my country?
Yes. Ony searches your music app's catalogue for the country your phone is in, so you get the version your store actually has. If your store doesn't carry a song, Ony opens the original link instead.
What does Ony collect?
Nothing. There's no Ony server. To find a song, your phone asks Apple's and YouTube Music's public search and reads Spotify's public song pages directly. Your app choice stays on your phone.
I use Spotify. Does it work for me?
Yes, with one extra tap. Spotify has no free search Ony can use, so links open Spotify's search for the song, usually with the song at the top.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. Ony is Android only, version 8 and up.
